As part of their evaluation for the grant we received, Biffa asked us to create a short video to show the work being carried out on the clubhouse. We look forward to doing another when all the work is complete!

An event not to be missed!

There will be a separate presentation for the colts, and Dave Hayward will be sending details of that shortly. However, there's nothing to stop the whole family coming along for this shindig too.

Getting ready for the new season

A number of wonderful people have spent the last couple of months working hard to complete work on the 2nd phase of the facilities refurbishment.

This involved finishing the new changing rooms and creating an improved deck area for spectators and after match socialising. We hope everyone enjoys the new space, and the committee would like to send huge thanks to everyone who got involved. 

Phase 3 of the works will involve gutting the existing bar area to create a larger internal space with new toilet facilities. We hope to start this at the end of the cricket season, but we need to raise more money to pay for the work. 

We will be having a number of fund raising events through the season which will be advertised in due course, including a series of Saturday evening barbecues as we did last season. We'd love to see everyone at the events - come along in the afternoon to watch some the senior sides play, prior to staying for a beer and a burger. The more people who attend, the more money we make.

The barbecue dates set are (start time approx. 7.30pm depending on how the game goes):

A message from the Chairman

"The progress made at our ground over the last year or so is astonishing; come up and see for yourself now the weather is warming up. 

We now need to build (excuse the pun!} on this success and we can't do this without the help and support of our members. We need annual subs to be paid on time please, and your support at the Club's fund raising events is, frankly, essential.

Clubhouse and grounds workday

With the season fast approaching, it's that time of year when we need all hands on deck.

There are numerous tasks to be completed as we build the verandah, in terms of ground and pavilion preparations. So we've set aside next Sunday, March 29, and would appreciate it if as many people as possible could come along from 10am to help out.

Please bring any equipment (paint brushes, rollers etc) you can - and anything else you think might be useful.

Winter nets and the season ahead

Training dates and teams for the coming season.

Pre season nets have once again been booked for six weeks at the Kings School in Rochester, with a cost of £18 applicable. Ideally, we'd appreciate this upfront, but payment can be made weekly if preferred. Booking forms will come out to you shortly.

An extra hour has been booked this year, as we've a lot of Under 9s we'd like to get involved before the season starts.

The programme is as follows:

Beginning on Saturday, February 21st:

4pm - 5pm Under 9's Group Coaching Soft Ball
5pm - 6pm Under 11's and Under 13's Net Coaching Hard Ball
6pm - 7pm Under 15s

Seniors and Under 17s nets will begin on on Tuesday, February 24th from 8pm - 10pm.

With regard to the season ahead, we will be running the following sides:

Under 11 hardball; Under 13; Under 15; Under 17.

We are a little short on Under 17s, so any Under 15s who fancy a game on a Tuesday evening would be feted as saviours - please make yourself available if possible, it would be much appreciated.

Our Under 9s will be entered into the Super 8's tournament, which is a Windball compeititon we've entered in the past. It normally takes place over four Sunday mornings in the summer and is fantastic fun for the youngsters.

Normal playing times:

Under 11s - Fridays, 6pm
Under 13s/Under 15s - Sundays, 10am
Under 17s - Tuesdays, 6pm

Summer training will probably begin after the Easter Holidays and there is no change to days: Under 15s and 17s on Mondays from 6.30pm; the younger age groups on Wednesdays from 6.30pm - 8pm.

Having had a few seasons without any raise, the annual subs will now be £40 for the season We hope you will all agree this is fantastic value for money, especially when compared with some other sports. Once again, our policy of not charging any match fees will continue.
